Formula

Sodatide Ingredients: Fibers, Bacteria and Real Doses

Quick answer

Sodatide pairs two prebiotic fibers with a blend of three probiotic strains.

Per capsule: chicory root inulin 211 mg, potato resistant starch 100 mg and a 36 mg probiotic blend. The fibers are small next to study doses, and the bacteria have no printed live count.

Compare the doses with research on the benefits page.

The list

What ingredients are in Sodatide?

Five actives in one capsule: two prebiotic fibers that feed gut bacteria, and three bacteria that share a single blend.

The label lists them by weight. Chicory root inulin comes first at 211 mg, then potato resistant starch at 100 mg. Last is a 36 mg "Probiotic Blend" that names three species with no amount for each.

The idea is a pair: prebiotic fibers feed microbes, and probiotics are the microbes. Every line on the bottle is typed out on the Sodatide Supplement Facts page.

The ingredient amounts sit in the box at the right. The three bacteria are printed under one blend weight with no count.

Label vs research

How much of each ingredient is in Sodatide?

The fibers come with exact weights. The bacteria do not. The table sets each label amount beside what researchers gave people.

Sodatide's five named actives with the amount per capsule from the Supplement Facts panel, next to the amounts used in research. The three probiotics share one 36 mg blend with no CFU count.
IngredientOn the labelWhat research has usedEvidence
Chicory root inulin211 mg per capsule5-10 g a day in most trials; 211 mg is about 2-4% of that (FDA, Dietary fiber Q&A) (Liu 2017 (inulin meta-analysis)) (Jackson 1999 (inulin 10 g/day)) (Bonnema 2010 (inulin tolerance))Small lipid effects at gram doses; none at 211 mg
Potato resistant starch100 mg per capsule3.5 g a day raised gut Bifidobacterium and Akkermansia; 8-66 g in metabolic trials (Snelson 2019 (resistant starch meta-analysis)) (Bush 2023 (resistant potato starch))Limited metabolic benefit even at gram doses
Akkermansia muciniphilaNot published (part of the 36 mg blend; no CFU count)10 billion cells a day for 3 months (pilot trial, 32 adults) (Depommier 2019 (Akkermansia pilot)) (UK ACNFP 2024 (pasteurised Akkermansia)) (NIH ODS, Probiotics (health professional))One small pilot; weight change not significant

Clostridium butyricumNot published (part of the 36 mg blend; no CFU count)300,000 to 135 million CFU a day of strain MIYAIRI 588 (proposed adult intake) (CBM 588 novel food application (UK)) (Shimbo 2005 (C. butyricum with H. pylori therapy)) (Perraudeau 2020 (WBF-011 trial))Small trials alongside antibiotics; no weight data

Dose check

Are the ingredient doses in Sodatide big enough?

Each bar fills to the share of the smallest tested daily dose that one capsule holds.

Amount per capsule (label)Low end of the daily dose used in studies

Bars show each label amount as a share of the smallest daily dose we found tested in people. Fiber trials used grams; Sodatide holds milligrams, about 2% of 10 g of inulin and about 3% of 3.5 g of resistant starch. Probiotics are dosed by live count (CFU), not weight, and the label prints no count, so that bar stays empty.

For the fibers, probably not on their own. For the bacteria, nobody outside the company can say, because the count is missing.

Prebiotics

What do inulin and resistant starch do in the gut?

Your enzymes cannot break either one down, so gut bacteria ferment them in the colon instead.

Chicory root inulin, 211 mg

The FDA counts inulin as dietary fiber (FDA, Dietary fiber Q&A). Across 20 trials and 607 adults at gram doses, only LDL cholesterol fell overall; fasting glucose did not change significantly (Liu 2017 (inulin meta-analysis)). Gas and bloating are the usual complaints at those doses (Bonnema 2010 (inulin tolerance)). Full profile: chicory root inulin.

Potato resistant starch, 100 mg

A starch that escapes digestion. At 3.5 g a day it raised Bifidobacterium and Akkermansia in a starch maker's trial (Bush 2023 (resistant potato starch)). A review of 22 trials at 8-66 g a day judged it of limited cardiometabolic benefit (Snelson 2019 (resistant starch meta-analysis)). Full profile: potato resistant starch.

Picture a 52-year-old who eats oatmeal and lentils most days. Next to that diet, the fiber in one capsule is a rounding error.

Probiotics

Which probiotics are in Sodatide, and how much?

Three species share one 36 mg blend, and the label gives no amount for any of them.

The three Sodatide bacteria: what one study of each found, and what the label leaves out
BacteriumBest human data we foundMissing from the label
Akkermansia muciniphilaPilot, 32 adults: the pasteurized form improved insulin sensitivity; weight change not significant (Depommier 2019 (Akkermansia pilot))Count; live or pasteurized
Bifidobacterium infantis362 women with IBS: one strain at one dose eased pain and bloating; not a weight study (Whorwell 2006 (B. infantis 35624, IBS))Count; strain code
Clostridium butyricum35 patients on antibiotics: fewer gut symptoms with strain MIYAIRI 588 (Shimbo 2005 (C. butyricum with H. pylori therapy))Count; strain name

The trio plus inulin echoes WBF-011, a five-strain formula taken as six capsules a day. In adults with type 2 diabetes, body weight did not change (Perraudeau 2020 (WBF-011 trial)). Sodatide has three of the five strains, so that trial does not carry over. More on Akkermansia.

Fair take

Is the Sodatide formula any good?

Sensible choices, small amounts. The missing counts are the weak spot.

In its favor

  • Fiber weights printed to the milligram
  • All three bacteria named, including Akkermansia
  • Prebiotic and probiotic in one capsule
  • No caffeine or stimulant herbs listed
  • Vegetarian capsule, per the label

Against it

  • Fibers at about 2-4% of study doses
  • Bacteria with no count, so no dose check
  • No strain codes, though strain matters
  • No study of the finished product (FTC Health Products Compliance Guidance)
  • Sales-page claims reach well past these ingredients

FAQ

Sodatide ingredients FAQ

What is in Sodatide?

Each Sodatide capsule holds chicory root inulin 211 mg, potato resistant starch 100 mg and a 36 mg probiotic blend of Bifidobacterium infantis, Clostridium butyricum and Akkermansia muciniphila. The shell is hypromellose, and microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and silica help the powder flow.

Does Sodatide have Akkermansia in it?

Yes. Akkermansia muciniphila is one of three bacteria named in the 36 mg probiotic blend. The label does not say how much Akkermansia is inside or whether it is live or pasteurized, which matters because the pilot study found a difference between the two forms.

Is the inulin in Sodatide enough to make a difference?

Probably not by itself. Each capsule has 211 mg of inulin, while trials used several grams a day, such as 10 g in one 8-week study. That makes the capsule dose about 2% of the studied amount. Food sources can add much more fiber.

What is resistant starch in Sodatide made from?

Potato. The label lists Potato (Resistant Starch) from the tuber at 100 mg per capsule. Resistant starch escapes digestion in the small intestine and feeds gut bacteria. The lowest dose with a published gut-bacteria effect was 3.5 g a day.

Are Sodatide ingredients gluten free and vegan?

The label supports only a vegetarian capsule made of hypromellose. Gluten-free and dairy-free claims come from the seller's badges and FAQ, not the label, and no certifier is named. If you must avoid gluten, ask the seller in writing before ordering.
